Copperas Cove is adjacent to Fort Cavazos, which is the largest military installation in Texas.The base population is about 96,000, with an authorized and assigned total military strength of more than 70,000. This strategic location provides the region with access to a highly educated, motivated, trained, and skilled workforce, including hundreds of soldiers who exit the service each month.

The Copperas Cove Independent School District provides its students with a challenging academic program, as well as 12 career technical programs with over 20 certifications/licenses to choose from that can be obtained by graduation. To further enhance their learning experience, students can take part in internships that offer them a chance to apply their classroom knowledge in real-world work environments.
