Over 400 job seekers attended the recent Regional Career Fair hosted by The Copperas Cove Economic Development Corporation, Texas Veterans Commission, and Workforce Solutions of Central Texas.
With over 50 hiring companies, attendees had a great selection of representatives to talk to and get information from. In addition to the typical table display areas for companies, Workforce Development Specialist, Brittany Sanders, included areas for interviews and for attendees to fill out applications on the spot.
Several local businesses supported the event with refreshments including Starbucks who provided coffee, Raising Cane’s who provided tea, Dunkin’ Donuts who provided donuts, and HEB who provided cookies and water for participating employers and attendees alike. Gratitude Coffee also had specialty coffee available.
This event was Copperas Cove’s very first regional career fair, and the largest job related event ever hosted in the city. Attendees had many good things to say about the career fair, commenting on how well organized the event was, how convenient the event’s location was, and positive feedback on how many employers and companies were present.
The Copperas Cove EDC heard that attendees would have liked to see more health and tech based companies, so that will be a change for next year’s career fair. The EDC’s goal is to make this an annual event in July.
