The Copperas Cove Economic Development Corporation (CCEDC) has once again been recognized for its commitment to professional economic development, earning the 2025 Economic Excellence Recognition from the Texas Economic Development Council. This marks the fourth consecutive year the organization has received the prestigious designation.

The award was presented during the TEDC Winter Conference held in El Paso on February 27, 2026, and was received by Sean Stevens, CCEDC Assistant Executive Director and Anne Seneca, Business Support Director. Each year, the Economic Excellence Recognition program honors economic development organizations across Texas that demonstrate a high standard of professionalism and organizational effectiveness.

Organizations qualify for recognition based on several criteria, including professional development of their governing board and staff, industry certifications, active professional memberships, and overall organizational effectiveness. The program highlights communities that are committed to advancing economic development through continued education, best practices, and strategic leadership.

“This recognition reflects the dedication of our Board of Directors and staff to maintaining the highest standards in economic development,” said Fred Welch, Executive Director of the Copperas Cove Economic Development Corporation. “Receiving this award for the fourth consecutive year demonstrates our commitment to professional growth, strategic planning, and delivering meaningful economic opportunities for the Copperas Cove community.”

The CCEDC works to support business growth, attract new investment, and strengthen the local economy by fostering partnerships with community stakeholders, supporting workforce initiatives, and promoting Copperas Cove as a competitive location for business development.

“The TEDC’s Economic Excellence Recognition program is one of the ways in which our organization honors the outstanding commitment to excellence of our communities and regions, their leaders, and their economic development professionals have toward the professionalization of their economic development efforts,” said Carlton Schwab, President and CEO of the Texas Economic Development Council.

The Texas Economic Development Council, established in 1961, is an Austin-based nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting economic and employment opportunities across the state. The organization provides education, information, and legislative advocacy for more than 1,000 members involved in economic development throughout Texas.

By maintaining the standards required for Economic Excellence Recognition, CCEDC continues to demonstrate its commitment to professional leadership and economic advancement for the Copperas Cove community.
