SMALL BUSINESS TRAINING
AND DEVELOPMENT

Small Business Development Center

The Copperas Cove EDC has a relationship with the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) out of Temple. An SBDC counselor is available to meet, one on one, on the first and third Tuesdays of each month.

If you are starting a business, or own a business, this is a great benefit. The counselor can help with Business Plans, Marketing Plans, Formation of Corporations, Mission Statements and more. The SBDC counselor has access to paid- for- data bases to give you up to date information. All these services are free of charge.

The CCEDC also offers services when the SBDC Counselor is not here. Walk-ins are welcome, but it is best to call and make an appointment. 254-547-7874.

Skills for Small Business

The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) Skills for Small Business program was created to meet the needs of Texas’ more than 433,000 small businesses that have fewer than 100 employees.

Through the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) Skills for Small Business program, up to $2 million from the Skills Development Fund is dedicated to the backbone of Texas’ business community—our small employers. Small businesses can apply to TWC for training offered by their local community (in this case, Central Texas College) or technical college, or the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX). TWC processes the applications and works with the college to fund the specific courses selected by businesses for their employees. For more information, please visit Skills for Small Business.

For more local information, you can visit the Employer Services and Skills Training page on the Central Texas College (CTC) website.
